DTF means direct-to-film printing. The design is printed onto transfer film, prepared with adhesive powder and heat, then transferred to a compatible garment using a heat press. It suits full-colour logos, gradients, names and numbers without requiring a separate screen for each colour.
When should you choose another method?
DTF adds a printed layer to the garment. Large, solid areas can feel heavier on thin fabric. For simple-colour bulk artwork, compare silkscreen printing; for a stitched company logo, compare embroidery. For colour across a whole polyester shirt, explore sublimation printing.
Planning an order of 50 or more DTF shirts?
For company uniforms, events and teams, start with the total quantity and garment choice. For a 100–400-piece order, compare DTF for detailed full-colour artwork with silkscreen for a simple-colour design. DTF still has no minimum order; the method should suit the artwork and fabric.
Start your DTF quote with the quantity range and required delivery date. Then share the exact quantity, shirt model or material, colour, size breakdown, artwork file, print dimensions and placement, and delivery location in WhatsApp. Confirm production and delivery timing before ordering.
Prepare the artwork at the intended print size
Send the artwork, dimensions, placement, garment choice, quantity and size breakdown together. A file that looks sharp on a phone may still need checking at the final print size. Production-ready Adobe Illustrator (AI) artwork is preferred; artwork preparation is chargeable when a suitable file is unavailable.

Is there a minimum order for DTF printing?
No. DTF printing has no minimum order at Printwear Malaysia, making it suitable for one-off personalised garments, small teams and larger production runs.
How quickly can a DTF order be ready?
Standard production is 1–3 working days after artwork and order details are approved. Selected urgent orders can be ready within 24 hours, subject to garment availability, artwork readiness and production capacity.
Can DTF print colourful artwork, names and numbers?
Yes. DTF supports detailed, full-colour artwork, gradients, individual names and numbers. Send your production-ready Adobe Illustrator (AI) file where possible; artwork preparation is chargeable when a suitable file is unavailable.
Can I supply my own garment?
No. We do not accept customer-supplied garments. Choose from our garment range so we can control compatibility and production quality.
What sizes are available?
Depending on the selected garment, sizes can range from approximately age 1–2 years old to 12XL. Confirm the required size breakdown before production.
What happens if there is a printing defect?
Printing defects are returnable within seven days after receiving the goods. Contact us promptly with clear photographs and your order details for assessment.
